Colorado Rockies Go For Sweep

By Jeremy Glasoe | July 20, 2008

The Colorado Rockies will be going for a 4 game sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates this afternoon at Coors Field. Where they have won 8 of 9 at home.

Hoping to complete the series sweep will be Aaron Cook, who is 11-6 with a 3.57 ERA. Cook is coming off his All-Star appearance on Tuesday in which he pitched 3 scoreless innings.

Cook is 0-1 lifetime against the Pirates with a 5.09 ERA in five games (two starts).

Pittsburgh will counter with Zach Duke, who is winless in his last 6 starts. Duke is 4-6 on the year with a 4.40 ERA.

This would be a tremendous way to start the second half of the season. And, would go a long way in helping to bolster the Rockies confidence. And, hopefully keeping Matt Holliday around.
