Brandon Marshall Suspended For Preseason
By Jeremy Glasoe | August 28, 2009
After giving Brandon Marshall a warning on Wednesday, his actions didn’t change. The Denver Broncos have suspended Marshall for conduct detrimental to the team. The suspension will go through September 5, he should be back with the team Sept. 6 (unless there’s a trade, which doesn’t look likely). If Marshall doesn’t fall in line, the team would reserve the right to extend his suspension.
The punishment is being handed down after Marshall’s display of unprofessionalism during practice Wednesday. He was lackadaisical during individual running drills. He didn’t run routes or catch passes during another position drill, instead choosing to hold a dummy and knocking the receivers as they came off the line. At one point, instead of handing the ball to a ball boy he punted it down field.
Watch Marshall’s on field antics here:
I believe this was a good move by the Broncos. If the team let’s Brandon get his way, it will set a nasty precedent. Whine and you get your way. It’s time to prove who’s the boss.
The funny thing is, there are no other teams knocking at the door for the services of B Marsh. He doesn’t even realize his actions are effecting other teams interest.
