Denver Broncos Training Camp Thursday Practice
By Jeremy Glasoe | August 20, 2009
The last day of Training Camp practices is in the books, and I had so much fun this year going to nearly every practice. There is no other way to get this close to the action!
I walked away from camp feeling better about the Denver Broncos, then I did heading into it. Josh McDaniels has this team heading in the right direction, I don’t care what anyone says. The Coach brings a youthful exuberance to the field and the Broncos players respond with the same.
While I am very excited for the regular season to start, I am also sad that I won’t be going out to Dove Valley to see My Boy’s tomorrow.
Sideline Report:

- The team practiced in shoulder pads and helmets with shorts today. The music was blaring once again, with great choices like Aerosmith’s Dream On.

- In the off-season, Tony Scheffler voiced his displeasure with the Jay Cutler situation. Scheffler was good buddies with Cutler. Scheffler has short term memory loss, because Kyle Orton and Schef are becoming real close. Which bodes well for the Broncos, if Scheffler can stay healthy.
- Mario Haggan came into camp and more than likely snagged himself a spot on the starting defense as an Outside Linebacker. I don’t think anyone gave him a chance before camp started, but Mario has had a great camp. Haggan was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the seventh round of the 2003 NFL Draft, so he knows the 3-4. He is 6′3 263lbs. and played college football at Mississippi State.
- Andre’ Goodman was signed as a Free-agent, from the Miami Dolphins. Goodman looks like a vast improvement over Dre’ Bly, playing opposite of Champ Bailey. In fact, he reminds me of Champ in a lot of ways.
- I am really happy that Josh McDaniels retained Offensive Line Coach Rick Dennison. The offensive line is like the red headed stepchild of football teams, they get no love. I will give them some, this line is possibly the best in the league, Top 3 if not.

- Kyle Orton had a good week at practice, we will see how it translates to the field on Saturday, when the Broncos play the Seattle Seahawks in their second preseason game.
- It looks as if this team is going to get bigger under McD’s leadership. He has added beef to the roster! Mike Shanahan preferred speed players.
