Linas Kleiza Signs With Greek Team

Chris Dempsey of The Denver Post, is reporting that Linas Kleiza is leaving the Denver Nuggets and has signed a 2 year $12 million contract with Olympiakos.

The Nuggets have lost forward Linas Kleiza to Olympiakos, according to his agent, Bill Duffy. Kleiza is expected to sign a 2-year, $12 million contract to play for the Greek club, which has been aggressive going after NBA players in recent years.
In four years with Denver, Kleiza has averaged 8.3 PPG and 3.5 RPG. I don’t think the Nuggets are going to lose much, at this point. Everyone talks about his perimeter shooting, but his career 3-point average is .342.
Kleiza can catch fire when his confidence is high, in January of 08′ Linas went off on Utah for 41 pts. Although, I think other teams have figured out after four years in the league, that he can only drive to the right. When the dude is running the floor his confidence is high, and he starts banging down 3’s, but I think his contract situation affected his play on the floor this past year.
Linas should really benefit from going to play in Europe. His confidence level will rise back up to what we were seeing a couple years ago. I could see him back in the league in a couple years.
I had high hopes for him with the Denver Nuggets. If Kleiza could have figured out how to use his left hand. Good Luck Linas!
