Buffs Darrell Scott has knee surgery

Colorado Buffaloes highly recruited sophmore tailback Darrell Scott had arthoscopic knee surgery today and will miss this Saturdays game at Kansas State and he could miss up to three weeks of action.
Scott has just 23 carries for 95 yards now through six games of the Buffs season and has been used primarily as a kick returner, collecting 564 return yards on 21 tries.
Scott suffered an injury to his knee during the teams second game of the year which was a blow out loss at Toledo. The injury seemed insignificant and did not cause Scott to miss any time until this weeks surgery.
Scott is a fan favorite in Boulder who receives the majority of his cheers when fans are pleading to see him in action as he paces the sidelines. Coach Dan Hawkins has cited lingering injuries as a reason for Scott’s limited action; something that seemed trivial as Scott continued to return kick offs which is arguably one of the most dangerous duties on a football field. Now it appears as though the injuries are legitimate enough for him to go under the knife. Buffs fans can only hope this is the fix to get Scott in shape to get back on the field and work his way toward an increased work load. The fans and the program would all certainly love to see him live up to all the recruitment hype he had coming into Colorado. He has shown signs that he can run the ball hard and effectively and has been most dangerous in the open field when he can get a full head of steam running down field.
Until Scott is able to return the Buffs usual starting tail back Rodney Stewart will continue to carry the load with Demetrius Sumler and Brian Lockridge expected to assume kick off duties and cash in a few more offensive snaps.
