Oh boy — Brandon Marshall expected to be in Seattle on Saturday to visit the Seahawks and see if they can hammer out an offer sheet.

If the Seahawks are able to work out a deal with Marshall, the Broncos would have seven days to match the offer. If they failed to do so, the Seahawks would be forced to compensate Denver with their first round draft pick in 2010, which is the sixth overall in the draft.

This deal sounds ideal for both sides. First, the Seahawks would get a young Pro-Bowl caliber receiver in Marshall; something they desperately need for quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, whose only top receiver is currently the 32-year-old T.J. Houshmandzadeh. New Seahawks offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates has coached Marshall previously as a member of the Broncos staff and it makes sense that the Seahawks, and Bates, would be willing to take the risk on Marshall’s highly-publicized character issues. The Seahawks would also still have the 14th overall pick in the draft, which they acquired from the Broncos in last year’s draft.

The deal would also be great from the Broncos stand-point as they stand to gain the sixth overall pick int he upcoming draft. Many options could come for coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Brian Xanders with this added pick, including the possibility of picking up a quarterback, like Notre Dame’s Jimmy Clausen.

However, that will all depend on whether or not Marshall and Seattle can hammer out a deal. Obviously a deal like this and the Broncos acquiring the sixth overall pick will lead to countless options and we here at the Colorado Sports Desk will be here to help discuss them all.

Other teams are also reportedly interested in Marshall still and this is just the beginning of the end for Marshall in Denver.

We will have more on this story to come as it continues to develop and as more teams involved in negotiations are announced.
