While Denver Nuggets star forward Carmelo Anthony would undoubtedly rather be preparing for the Western Conference Finals this weekend, he really cant complain about what he will be doing instead this Sunday.
Anthony will join a panel of judges that includes figure skater Johnny Weir, Food Network star Paula Deen, Oscar Nunez from the hit TV show The Office, Phil Ruffin from the real estate industry, the editor of Glamour Magazine Suze Yalof-Schwartz, and wife of Donald Trump, Melania.
As we have seen countless times when he is injured and on the sideline, Anthony has quite the taste for fashion and he will get another opportunity to further expand on himself as a brand by gaining exposure in households nationwide that might not already be familiar with Melo and his skills on the court.
Anthony has shown that he is passionate about getting his name recognized–through record labels, an Indy Car team, a Denver hair salon and of course his Jordan brand ads.
So Nuggets fans, will you tune into the 2010 Miss USA Pageant to see what kind of expertise Melo can lend to the modeling world or will you just be watching for the “talent,” in the pageant?
I will be doing neither; instead I plan on catching Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Magic vs. Celtics.
